Crystal and quartz

Most pieces in the Crystal collection are quartz in one of its forms: rutilated quartz with golden needles, phantom quartz with earlier growth layers visible inside, amethyst, citrine, rose and strawberry quartz, hematoid quartz, Super Seven, and pietersite and rhodonite beside them. They are natural stones, cut into beads and strung, mostly on stretch cord.

How to judge quality

By the clarity of the body, by how clean and well-defined the inclusions are, by how well the beads are matched for colour and size, and by the polish. Inclusions are the point in rutilated and phantom quartz: fine, bright, evenly spread needles are what people look for, not an absence of them.

Care

Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Take a stretch bracelet off with both hands, rolling rather than pulling, since it is the cord that fails, not the stone. Keep amethyst out of long direct sunlight, which can pale it. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners for any bead strung on cord.

The stones in the Crystal collection are described as natural in the source data. Where a stone is lab-created, the page says lab-created; that applies to lab-created yellow jade, cubic zirconia and ruby elsewhere in the catalog.

Will my bracelet look exactly like the photograph?

The pattern of inclusions differs bead to bead, so a bracelet will be very close but not identical unless the page says One of a kind.

What size are the beads?

Every crystal bracelet page gives the bead size, from 8mm to about 16mm. Where an inner circumference is known, about 17cm, the page gives that too.

Do you claim healing effects?

No. We describe what a stone is traditionally associated with, and nothing more.

What is Super Seven?

A quartz that contains several minerals at once, also called Melody Stone; our source names amethyst, clear quartz, smoky quartz, rutile, cacoxenite, goethite and lepidocrocite.

Can I have it made to my wrist size?
