Jade
Jade is two different stones, and GrainMoon names which one each piece is. Hetian jade is nephrite: here it appears as white carved pendants, some with a small solid 18K gold accent bead of about 0.03 g, and as bracelets of about 6mm beads in colour gradients. Jadeite is the other jade: the pendants are natural, untreated Type A jadeite, hand-carved, and the Emerald Mist bangle is icy jadeite (Bingzhong), translucent white with mossy green. Type A means the stone has not been treated. Three pieces in natural African Jade are listed under that name. Jade is traditionally associated with protection, calm and harmony; we describe that as tradition. Lab-created yellow jade, found in other collections, is always labelled lab-created.
